At our counseling center, Dr. Sheehan's initial assessment typically lasts 45-60 minutes. During this time, he conducts a thorough evaluation of your mental health symptoms and background history. At the conclusion of this assessment, he will explain your diagnosis and provide a tailor-made treatment plan, which may include medications, possible bloodwork, and other testing as necessary, along with referrals to the most appropriate counselor to fit your needs. Subsequent visits at our psychiatry associates in Tupelo are usually scheduled monthly, lasting approximately 15 minutes, and focus on adjusting your medication to ensure you or your child achieve optimal mental health, allowing you to feel and function your very best.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) encompasses a variety of techniques that focus on the construction and re-construction of people's cognitions, emotions, and behaviors. In a counseling center, mental health services often utilize CBT, where therapists employ a wide array of modalities to assist clients in assessing, recognizing, and addressing problematic and dysfunctional ways of thinking, emoting, and behaving. For those seeking support, psychiatry associates Tupelo can provide the necessary resources to implement these effective strategies.
At our counseling center, we love our patients, so feel free to visit during normal business hours to learn more about our mental health services offered by Psychiatry Associates Tupelo.
